This workspace is dedicated to the analysis of the concept of 'Effective Housing', which has been the topic in the Oikodomos Bratislava Workshop, carried out from 14th to 20th 2009. The participants in this workshop are students from the courses taking place in Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura La Salle, Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst, Institut d'Urbanisme IUG i Faculty of Architecture during the first semester 2009/10.

During the academic year 2005/06, students from five European Universities (Arquitectura La Salle, Barcelona, SPAIN; Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst, Sint-Lucas, Brussels & Ghent, BELGIUM; Fachhochschule Stuttgart, GERMANY; Politechnika Bialostocka, Bialystok, POLAND; School of Architecture, Liverpool, UNITED KINGDOM) have carried out an analysis of case studies using a web-based learning environment especially developed for this project (http://www.housing21eu.net). The goal of this analysis has been to identify significant examples and critical issues which will then be further discussed during the WORKSHOP that takes place in Barcelona, from the 3th to the 14th of July, 2006. WORKSHOP1 took place in Barcelona, from the 5th to the 16th of July, 2004 and WORKSHOP2 from the 4th to the 15th of July 2005.
The goal of this international workshop is to elaborate proposals for innovative housing design in the area of Barcelona. Students and professors from the five Universities will reflect on the social, economic and technological factors influencing housing in twenty-first century Europe. Three sites in the area of Barcelona have been selected to elaborate housing design proposals. The projects will address the domestic, communal and urban dimension of dwelling.
